The UK’s Guardian News gleefully leapt upon a slip of the tongue from Minister Grant Shapps, who got into a muddle over the precise start time of a hastily imposed quarantine on those returning to the UK from France.
Grant Shapps caused confusion on Thursday night when he gave the wrong date for the start of Covid-19 quarantine measures for arrivals from France. The transport secretary said during a TV interview that they would have to self-isolate for 14 days from Sunday, but the regulation actually comes into force at 4am on Saturday
