Government to ‘come close’ to 100,000 test target, minister says

The Government is expecting to either meet its challenging target of 100,000 tests carried out daily “or come close” a Cabinet minister said this morning, as he noted it was “just a stepping stone to more”.

Housing and Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick confirmed the figures would be published later today, and said he was confident they would show the country was either carrying out the target number of tests “or quite close to it”.
