It’s in response to the passage of the Government’s proposed media code which is designed to force companies like Google and Facebook to pay for news content.

It turned into a public relations nightmare for Facebook – but it also overshadowed an agreement the Government’s struck with Google. Here’s chief political correspondent Laura Tingle.

    Can I share my thoughts about why advertisers paid FB? Because their target consumers were using the platform. And now that the consumers know that they won’t find legitimate news from the platform, the advertisers would want to find out where their target consumers would be going next.
