The Gold Coast Council is spending more than a quarter of a million dollars to prevent toxic algae.

87 tonnes of ‘Phoslock’ will be used in Lake Hugh Muntz at Mermaid Waters over two weeks to prevent algae growth.

“We will go back into Summer with locals and sporting clubs being able to go back to some sort of recreational use.” – Councillor Pauline Young.
