As Ross Lord explains, there’s little clarity on what exactly that means. A second nurse has been fired, after an Indigenous woman livestreamed her mistreatment as she lay dying in a Quebec hospital bed. Indigenous leaders say the racism she faced is not at all unusual. They say if she hadn’t filmed the experience, her death would have been another “forgotten statistic.” Heather Yourex-West reports. More than 1 million people have died from COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. The pandemic has altered the way we live. Crystal Goomansingh looks at the stress caused by the virus, and the toll it’s taking on all of us.
