And nearly one week after the remains of 215 Indigenous children were discovered at unmarked burial sites at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School in British Columbia, survivors of these facilities and their families are struggling to cope. As Neetu Garcha reports, decades after Canada’s last residential school closed, the trauma lingers for generations of Indigenous people.

Plus, with over half of eligible Americans now fully vaccinated for COVID-19, the U.S. has revealed what it plans to do with leftover vaccine doses. Jackson Proskow explains how the supply will be doled out, the timeline and the criticism over Canada making the list of recipients.

Pressure is mounting on Canada to help Afghan translators who fear for their lives once U.S. troops depart Afghanistan in 100 days. As Mike Armstrong reports, one translator says the Taliban will come for him and his family once foreign forces leave.

As a highly developed country, Canada has the seventeenth-highest nominal per-capita income globally as well as the thirteenth-highest ranking in the Human Development Index. Its advanced economy is the tenth-largest in the world, relying chiefly upon its abundant natural resources and well-developed international trade networks.
