    In an effort to ramp up Canada’s plateauing COVID-19 vaccinations, provinces are getting creative to reach people who are hesitant to get their shots. Mike Drolet explains how.

    The highly-transmissible Delta COVID-19 variant is causing concern in the U.S., especially in communities where fewer than 20 per cent of residents have received their shots. As Jackson Proskow explains, medical experts fear a resurgence of the virus may be headed to the country’s south.

    As more Canadians get vaccinated for COVID-19 and restrictions begin to lift, not everyone is excited for the country to reopen. Jamie Mauracher looks at what’s driving anxieties.

    And, with travel set to resume soon, some airlines are offering major flight deals. Anne Gaviola reports.

    The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated Calgary’s long-standing problem with high office vacancies. Right now, 16 office towers are completely empty. As Heather Yourex-West explains, the city has pitched a plan to fill them with affordable housing, with hopes it catches on across Canada.

    In the U.S., celebrations are underway for Juneteenth, which has long been observed as the official end to slavery in the country, and is a federal holiday this year. Jennifer Johnson reports.

    As a highly developed country, Canada has the seventeenth-highest nominal per-capita income globally as well as the thirteenth-highest ranking in the Human Development Index. Its advanced economy is the tenth-largest in the world, relying chiefly upon its abundant natural resources and well-developed international trade networks.
