Ukraine continues to bolster its defences as fears of a Russian invasion have intensified after Russia launched a series of military drills. As Crystal Goomansingh reports from Kyiv, supplies and underground bunkers are being prepared for protection.

Families of Canadian diplomats along with military personnel in Ukraine are also being ordered out of the country, as Ottawa considers its next steps to respond to a possible Russian invasion. Mercedes Stephenson reports on what aid Canada has planned for Ukraine and the possible Russian retaliation it’s bracing for.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian-Canadians say they are extremely anxious about the fate of their homeland. As Mike Drolet reports, many are calling for western governments to take a strong and united stance against Russia.

In the United Kingdom, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is fighting for his political survival, after police launched an investigation into the alleged string of gatherings that took place at his residence during COVID-19 lockdown. As Redmond Shannon reports, Boris Johnson’s political future is growing more uncertain by the day.

In British Columbia, After a nine-month-long investigation, the Williams Lake First Nation says an initial ground radar search has found what could be 93 unmarked graves at the site of a former residential school. Heather Yourex-West reports on another devastating discovery.

And after decades of preparation, and travelling 1.5 million kilometres through space, NASA’s James Webb telescope has finally reached its destination to help unravel the mysteries of the universe.
