Giant panda Mei Xiang gave birth to the cub on August 21. The yet-to-be-named baby is healthy and strong. It measured 34 centimeters from nose to tail tip. The cub’s eyes are still closed, but generally, newborn giant pandas open their eyes between six and eight weeks.
