Giant land art in Geneva celebrates 75 years of the UN

French artist Saype created a giant work of land art called “World in progress” in the garden of the UN headquarters. It is a gift offered by Switzerland for the 75th anniversary of the signing of the United Nations Charter. The artwork covers 6,000 square meters. It was produced with biodegradable paints made from natural pigments, such as coal and chalk. The fresco depicts two children drawing their somewhat imaginary and above all Utopian world. It also shows a procession of characters holding hands, including not only humans, but also animals and nature. According to the artist, the artwork reflects that humans have to be united and must live in harmony with nature.
