Germany’s Social Democrats party have been holding its party conference, hoping to increase their popularity in advance of September’s general election.
The centre-left party had a brief boost in the polls earlier this year when Martin Schulz came back from decades in Brussels to become party leader.
But the so-called Schulz effect wore off.
