Germany: Thousands rally to denounce Turkish coup attempt

Tens of thousands of people rallied in Cologne to denounce a coup attempt in Turkey that ultimately failed.

The attempt to topple Turkey’s government has divided opinions among people of Turkish descent living in Germany. Smaller counter protests were also held, but the crowds were kept apart.
