One institution aiming to improve its relations with racial minorities is the Catholic Church in Germany. But sometimes even church officials say they face discrimination. DW spoke to a German pastor of Sri Lankan ancestry.
People of color often do not have an easy job as public officials in the Catholic Church in Germany. They are targets of hostility, reduced to their supposed origin or are not taken seriously. Pastor Regamy Thillainathan from Cologne told us about his personal experiences and what the Church in Germany must do to overcome racist attitudes.
