  • Sky News Australia published this video item, entitled “Georgia runoff loss would given Biden an ‘excuse’ to tell progressive Dems ‘sorry’” – below is their description.

Sky News contributor Miranda Devine says President-elect Joe Biden would have an “excuse” to swat away the progressive wing of the Democratic Party from his administration if the Republicans win the Georgia runoff elections. “What Joe Biden understands is that if, in fact, the Republicans do win these two Senate seats in the Georgia runoff on January 5 that they will control who he decides to put into his administration,” Ms Devine told Sky News. “He’ll have to choose safe picks, and that probably is something that he would like because it gives him an excuse to tell the progressive wing of the party, the AOC, Bernie Sanders wing, that ‘oh sorry, we can’t make Bernie Sanders secretary of the treasury and give AOC some plum role’.”
