Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Georgia frees opposition leader Melia after court ruling” – below is their description.
Georgia’s opposition leader has been freed from prison after a court ordered his release on bail.
Nika Melia’s arrest for his role in anti-government protests against what he said were fraudulent elections last November triggered a political crisis.
His release is being seen as a major step forward in an EU-backed plan to end the stalemate.
Al Jazeera’s Robin Forestier-Walker reports from Rustavi Prison where Melia was being held, near Tbilisi, Georgia.
