Business activities may be normalising slowly in The Gambia after COVID-19 restrictions were lifted.

But two of the country’s key economic sectors – diaspora remittances and tourism – continue to flounder.

They make up about half of the country’s Gross domestic product (GDP).

Experts are warning that unless they recover fast, the future of the economy could be in trouble.

Al Jazeera’s Ahmed Idris reports from the capital, Banjul.
