As the G7 summit wraps up in Bavaria’s Schloss Elmau in Germany on Tuesday, member countries are announcing new supports for Ukraine — including Canada.
Prime Minister Trudeau announced more than $350 million of financial support for Ukraine. Canada also plans to sanction individuals and import bans targeting Russia’s attempts to sell gold on international markets.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a virtual appearance the day before, taking part in a closed-door discussion on topics ranging from war strategy to reconstruction, and calling for more support from G7 leaders for aid and military equipment.
