    A large-scale security operation is under way in Cornwall in preparation for the G7 Summit.

    Thousands of police officers from across the country are expected to secure the major event which will see high-profile leaders travel to Cornwall between June 11 and 13.

    Ten-foot-tall steel fences have been erected around the venues, roads have been closed and checkpoints installed across the county.

    The costs of security are estimated to exceed £70m.
