A frustrated Amazon driver confronts a group of Extinction Rebellion protestors as they blocked him from leaving the depot on Black Friday.
The series of coordinated blockades – timed to coincide with Amazon’s busiest day of the year – started at 4am with about 20 activists gathering outside Amazon’s distribution centre in Dunfermline.
In Dartford – one of 13 sites targeted – protesters held a sign saying ‘Black Friday exploits people and planet’, while in Peterborough the slogan was ‘infinite growth harms planet’. Other sites that have been blocked include ones in Doncaster, Darlington, Newcastle, Derby, Coventry, Rugeley, Bristol, Tilbury and Milton Keynes.
At least 13 people have been arrested in three of the locations, police forces have confirmed.
