South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Fresh sandstorm hits Beijing following its worst storm in a decade” – below is their description.
Heavy sandstorm again swept across northern China on March 28, 2021, the second to hit the Chinese capital in less than two weeks and the worst storm it has seen in a decade.
In Beijing, the storm carrying high levels of hazardous particles pushed air pollution levels off the charts, turning the sky yellow and the sun to a blue dot. Poor visibility led to numerous flight delays and cancellations at several airports in northern China. The China Meteorological Administration said the storm was caused by strong winds carrying dust from drought-hit Mongolia and northwest China, where more sandstorms are forecast to hit in April.
