FRANCE 24 English published this video item, entitled “French farmers protest as food price talks reach crunch stage” – below is their description.
Farmers have staged protests at supermarkets and distribution centres in parts of France, as they try to secure better prices for their produce. Their representatives are in talks with food giants and supermarkets are taking part in discussions over prices, under a law passed in 2018. Farmers say they’re not earning enough to cover their costs, while retailers argue consumers cannot afford to pay more. Also today, the US Federal Aviation Administration has ordered inspections of planes that use the engine involved in Saturday’s mid-flight failure in Colorado.
