Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Freed foreigners return home after Myanmar prisoner amnesty” – below is their description.
Myanmar has freed nearly 6,000 prisoners, including several foreigners, as part of an amnesty to mark National Victory Day.
The country has been in political turmoil since last year’s coup, which sparked mass protests and evolved into an armed resistance.
The prisoner release follows a week of criticism of Myanmar’s military government at the ASEAN Summit and the G20 in Bali.
