Ex-Brexit Party MEP, and Academy of Ideas director Claire Fox has told Sky News’ Anna Jones about why she has accepted a peerage, despite previously have written against them.
Ms Fox said Boris Johnson had appointed a range of Brexiters and Remainers, but acknowledged that the overall number of peers was high.
At university she was reportedly an active member of the Revolutionary Communist Party, but will soon be elevated to the peerage.
She said she was happy to now have a platform to express her views, adding that any controversy around her views on the conflict in Northern Ireland was ‘a very long time ago’ and that ‘times had moved on’.
