Four Australian writers share their experiences of growing up with a disability | The Drum

ABC News (Australia) published this video item, entitled “Four Australian writers share their experiences of growing up with a disability | The Drum” – below is their description.

One in five Australians has a disability. It’s a community that’s gloriously diverse, and runs through every part of our society.

But their voices remain underrepresented on our TV screens, in our media and literature as well. Stories remain untold.

Now, 40 writers have contributed to ‘Growing Up Disabled In Australia’ – a new anthology that sees each person describe their own experience growing up with a disability or chronic illness, in their own words.
