Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the meeting celebrating the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland and the inaugural ceremony of the sixth-term government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on July 1. Eduardo Roldan, who served as consul general of Mexico in Hong Kong from 1996 to 1998, recalled the scene of the ceremony marking Hong Kong’s return to China 25 years ago in an interview.
