An Adelaide court has released footage of a tense stand-off between police and an army veteran who confronted officers with a range of weapons, including a fake machine gun. But the vet says his mental state has been spiralling downwards after two tours of Afghanistan and his discharge from the army eight years ago, thanking the police officers for taking him into custody without shooting him.
