Foggy Weather Brings Disruption to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport

Several flights have been cancelled on the morning of 21st November 2011 at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport because of foggy weather. Fewer runways are in operation than usual. Some KLM Royal Dutch Airlines transfers for European flights have been cancelled. It is expected that normal operations will resume at 13:00 on Monday.

45,000 passengers passed through Amsterdam Schiphol Airport in 2010, making it the fifth busiest European airport, and the third busiest cargo hub. 60,000 people work at the airport, including in related services and businesses.
