First Zika case in Haiti amid a crumbling health system

Haiti has identified its first case of the birth defect microcephaly linked to the Zika virus.

The health ministry also confirmed it had identified another 14 cases of microcephaly, but hasn’t yet linked them to Zika.

The announcement came as doctors across Haiti continue a strike they’ve been on since March, in protest over low wages, crumbling facilities and a lack of basic medical supplies.

Al Jazeera’s Daniel Schweimler reports the Haitian capital, Port au Prince.
