It was supposed to be a Tasmanian, if not Australian first, an all female team of lawyers taking a criminal appeal to the High Court of Australia.
But now the Legal Aid Commission has indicated they may not be up to the task.
Tasmanian defence lawyers Kim Baumeler and Phillippa Willshire have been granted special leave by the High Court to appeal a criminal case but the Legal Aid Commission wants someone else to take over. A male QC from Queensland.
