Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “First class of students to graduate in Amazigh language” – below is their description.
The Amazigh, or Berbers, are the original inhabitants of Libya, with their own flag, language and culture.
For decades, they were repressed under the rule of Muammar Gaddafi. However, now they are getting the chance to celebrate their culture as a group of college students has just become the first to graduate in the Amazigh language.
Al Jazeera’s Malik Traina reports from western Libya.
