Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Fighting continues in Afghanistan as gov’t and Taliban meet” – below is their description.
It is the first time after nearly two decades that the Afghan government and the Taliban are meeting face to face. But as they meet in Doha, attacks are continuing in Afghanistan. The historic talks to end Afghanistan’s long-running conflict kicked off in Doha on September 12. A member of the Afghan government delegation told Al Jazeera: “We are here to build trust and so far the signs are positive. The Afghan conflict has been 20 years in the making, differences will not just vanish. A lot of work is required by both sides.” Al Jazeera’s Osama Bin Javaid spoke with Habiba Sarabi, the former governor of Bamyan province. –
