Thousands of people, including at least 2,000 holidaymakers, were evacuated from their accommodation in south-east France on Tuesday.

Wildfires swept through more than 6,000 hectares of land, including several villages surrounding the popular holiday destination of St Tropez. 

More than 900 firefighters and 120 gendarmes are working to put out the fire, which was still not under control.
