A leading epidemiologist said today she believes the country is at a “critical moment” in controlling the spread of the virus. In Leeds, people have been urged to socialise “sensibly and responsibly” this weekend, after the city was added to a government watchlist of areas with high rates of infection. Kate Silverton introduces this report from our correspondent Richard Galpin.
