Despite the devastating number of deaths in India from the Covid-19 pandemic, misinformation and mistrust are fuelling widespread vaccine hesitancy in the country. In a nation where just under four per cent is fully vaccinated, medical workers are facing strong resistance, particularly in rural areas. Health-related myths, such as the jab disrupting women’s menstrual cycle or reducing their fertility, have led many to refuse offers of inoculation.
