    At the end of 2020, China achieved the goal of eliminating extreme poverty by improving the livelihood of nearly 100 million people. In this special edition of World Insight, Farewell Poverty, Tian Wei talked to diplomats visiting Nujiang Prefecture in southwest China’s Yunnan Province, which is regarded as a wild birds’ paradise. There they witnessed changes to villagers’ lives brought by tourism and their thoughts on poverty alleviation and ecological protection.
