Facebook has had a difficult 24 hours. Today one of its former data scientists told Senators in the United States that at every opportunity Facebook puts its astronomical profits before people.
In a coincidence of timing, Facebook had barely managed to get its Instagram and WhatsApp platforms up and running again before Frances Haugen made one damning claim after another.
She said bosses know its Facebook and Instagram platforms harm children – but don’t say so. Senators likened that to tobacco companies in the past.
