Face masks in public transport is now compulsory in France as many countries, in order for people to protect themselves and others from the spread of the virus, but this might change our social interactions. “Its is creating a new mode of communication, but it also is a symbol of fear”, Jonathan Metzl, psychiatrist and sociologist at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, told FRANCE 24. “In the US, wearing masks also became political, like President Donald Trump refused”, he added.
