    Baihetan Hydropower Station, located on the Jinsha River on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, completed its concrete pouring on May 31, 2021. Designed to produce 16 gigawatts of electricity, it is the world’s second-largest hydropower project in terms of installed capacity, following the Three Gorges Dam project.

    The 289-meter-high Baihetan Hydropower Station will be put into partial use on July 1, 2021.
