If Rwanda now boasts a vibrant society and a thriving economy, the road to recovery has been long and difficult after years of civil war and genocide in the 1990s. The architect behind this arduous journey in the last two decades and the healing process that followed is Paul Kagame, who became Rwanda’s President in 2000. In this edition of Leaders Talk, President Kagame tells CGTN’s Li Peichun that Rwanda has since followed its own path to development and put people first in each and every economic and social endeavor. In this exclusive interview, President Kagame also praises China’s role and leadership in promoting cooperation and partnership and delivering concrete and tangible results for Rwanda and Africa as a whole.
