FRANCE 24 English published this video item, entitled “Ex-President Giscard d’Estaing ‘will always be part of French lives’ but ‘was very full of himself'” – below is their description.
France is mourning former French President Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, who died Wednesday December 2, 2020, aged 94 after contacting Covid-19. ‘Giscard’, as he was known, was a champion of European integration and helped modernizing French society in the 1970s, legalizing abortion, liberalizing divorce and lowering the voting age to 18 during his time in office. While some French say he “will always be a part of our lives”, others say “he did not bring much to France”.
