The Evangelical Alliance, which represents 3,500 evangelical churches in the UK, has told ITV News the group is “happy” the exact scope of a ban on LGBT+ conversion therapy is being consulted on.
In Tuesday’s Queen’s Speech, the government announced it will outlaw “coercive” attempts to change someone’s sexuality.
Evangelical Alliance’s UK director Peter Lynas said the group has always urged the government to honour it’s commitment to “end harmful and abusive practices” but also to “safeguard spiritual support for those who want it.”
