European ministers to meet over migration crisis after tragedy

Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “European ministers to meet over migration crisis after tragedy” – below is their description.

After the deaths of 27 people in the English Channel this week, ministers from several coastal nations are due to meet in France to discuss the migration crisis.

But a dispute between the UK and France is complicating efforts.

More than 23,000 people have already entered the UK on small boats this year – up from 8,500 last year.

With fewer avenues for legal migration or asylum after Brexit, many are attempting more desperate means.

Al Jazeera’s Rory Challands reports from Calais in northern France.
