The European Political Community is made up of 27 EU states and 17 other countries with Russia as the one major European power not invited.

Overlooking the Dnieper River is the Kiev Pechersk Lavra monastery complex, a Christian pilgrimage site housing Scythian tomb relics and catacombs containing mummified Orthodox monks.
