The European Union is urging U.S. President Donald Trump to rethink his decision of pulling out of the World Health Organization (WHO). Top EU officials say it’s time for “enhanced cooperation and common solutions” given the pandemic, and any actions against those goals must be avoided. German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas called Trump’s decision the “wrong signal at the wrong time.” He’s also pledged to have talks with Washington over the issue. Trump announced the decision on Friday. He had accused the WHO of mishandling the pandemic and being under China’s control. The UN body has denied those charges.
