    European Union leaders are stepping up their criticism of a plan to waive patent protections for Covid-19 vaccines.

    On day two of an EU summit in Portugal on Saturday EU Council President Charles Michel and French President Emmanuel Macron played down the need to discuss intellectual property waivers to combat the pandemic.
