EU cracks down on Dutch eggs contaminated by pesticides

Two men have been arrested by Dutch police as part of an investigation into the illegal use of pesticides at poultry farms in Europe.

Millions of chicken eggs have been pulled from European supermarket shelves and hundreds of thousands of hens may need to be culled.

It is alleged the Netherlands had known about the contamination for months, which has caused tensions between the country and the European Union.

Al Jazeera’s Lawrence Lee reports.
