Ethnic Russians in Latvia divided on Ukraine invasion

Global News published this video item, entitled “Ethnic Russians in Latvia divided on Ukraine invasion” – below is their description.

As Russia’s invasion of Ukraine rages on, ethnic Russians in Latvia are divided on the deadly war.

Russia’s neighbouring countries are already anxiously watching how the conflict is playing out, especially in Latvia.

But about 24 per cent of Latvians are ethnic Russians, many of them living in the region of Latgal.

As Mercedes Stephenson reports from Riga, the crisis is causing tension between families.
