South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Ethnic Karen people fleeing Myanmar-military airstrikes reportedly pushed back by Thai soldiers” – below is their description.
Clashes erupted in eastern Myanmar over the weekend of March 27-28, 2021, after ethnic Karen armed forces attacked a military post of the junta government in protest against the February 1 coup. More than 2,000 Karen people fled villages held by the ethnic Karen armed group, saying they had been targeted by military airstrikes. They tried to make their way into Thailand, but activist groups said Thai soldiers pushed the Karen back. Thai authorities denied forcing back refugees who reached the border on March 29, 2021.
