Channel 4 News published this video item, entitled “Ethiopian Nomads struggle for survival on the climate crisis frontline” – below is their description.
For the nomadic people of Ethiopia’s Afar region, an area known as the “cradle of humanity” and once famed for the discovery of a three-million-year-old fossil named Lucy, action on climate change can not come soon enough.
One of the hottest places on the planet, it’s getting even hotter.
The people follow the rain and build settlements when they find water.
But as those rains become scarcer and scarcer, their very existence is now under threat.
We travelled to the region to visit the Afar people and witness their struggle for survival.
