Escaped wolves trigger province-wide search by Vancouver Zoo

Global News published this video item, entitled “Escaped wolves trigger province-wide search by Vancouver Zoo” – below is their description.

Escaped wolves prompted the unexpected closure of the Greater Vancouver Zoo in Canada this week, with the search for at least one escaped wolf continuing throughout the B.C. area.

According to a statement from the zoo, the details around the way the wolves got out are “suspicious, and believed to be due to malicious intent.” The zoo said most of the wolves are back in their care but a “small number” of wolves remain on the loose.

The zoo, which has nine adult grey wolves and six cubs, has not confirmed how many escaped or remain unaccounted for.

The provincial Ministry of Environment said Monday one wolf remained at large but the zoo has not confirmed numbers at this time.
